Names, Not Numbers
Why Small Assumptions Create Big Chaos
In early versions of the app,
you could send someone a code like 715885 or TRIP25,
and they’d load the shared list by typing it in.
But it wasn’t possible to share it as a link.
If you sent someone easy-list-sync.lovable.app/TRIP25,
they’d land on a blank screen.
It only worked if the code was numbers.
Why? A regex that only accepted 6 digits.
And so…
one of the most human moments —sharing—was quietly breaking.
So I inverted the problem.
What if the product isn’t the checklist…
but the trust that the list just loads?
What if the emotional win isn’t “tech magic,”
but the absence of friction in the moment that matters?
So I rewrote it.
All code validation now runs through a clean normalizer.
The bug is gone.
The share link now just works —TRIP25, 735835, any list you create.
This isn’t about a regex fix.
It’s about the ritual of coordination being honored.
You and someone you love.
In sync.
No glitches.
No guessing.
No downloads, No installs.
Just one link → one list → shared reality.
